Hello,
Ich have a dualboot System Linux Mint - Grub Win11. I had my Data on the Win11 on an extra drive enrypted by VeraCrypt. I want to change sloley to Linux Mint. So I want to leave my data right now on this drive. I made an NTFS patition encryption under VeraCrypt. No i installed VeraCrypt under Linux Mint. It works. I can read the data. But i can not write on the NTFS Partition. I read an aritcle of the year 2017 her on this forum, where it is saied that i shod deactivate the faststartup mode from Win 11. But this mode is already deactivated on my Win11 version. Then there are some other hints how to mount a NTFS Partition with a new driver so that the r/w mode ist active. But I don't know if I can do this because VeraCrypt under Linux Mint is mounting the enrypted Volume automaticaly. The other version ist to create an FAT32 Partition with VeraCrypt. I read that there are not so much acces problems with linux. But i want to use Onwcloud and the KI-Mode, wehre the virtual file mode is supported, works only with NTFS. So if possible i want to stay ba NTFS under VeraCrypt.
How can I get write permition on an NTFS VeraCrypt Partition?
Thanks
Oliver Fichs

Re: No write acces to NTFS form Win11 under VeraCrypt
Off the top of my head... the easiest thing to do is probably just re-create a NTFS container on Mint with VeraCrypt and then transfer your data to it and delete the old one without the write access.
MainPC: i5-3550 (undervolted by -0.120v (CPU runs 12c cooler) /w stock i3-2120 hs/fan) | 1050 Ti 4GB | 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RAM | Backups: AMD E-300 CPU (8GB RAM) / Athlon X2 3600+ CPU (@2.3GHz@1.35v) (4GB RAM) | All /w Mint 21.x-Xfce

Verify if "Mount volume as read-only" is not checked" in the Auto-Mount Options. Also you can mount volume manually.

Thanks for the hints.
My VeraCrypt Volume from Win 11 is mounted r/w in the menu. This was not the fault.
But i created the containers new under Linux Mint. So now I have r/w acces form Mint and Win 11
Kind Regards
