[SOLVED]Cannot mount a USB stick in Vera!

Post by RobertX »

For some reason, when I insert a USB flash drive into the slot, the OS is having trouble with mounting the USB flash drive. The message comes out as follows:
The error wrote: Error mounting /dev/sdb1 at /media/name/USB STICK: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1, missing codepage or other program, or other error.
I know that the USB slots work for sure, as I can insert the LiveDVD and do a bunch of stuff on it, so the slots are not the issue. I also know that the USB sticks are not the issue as they all cannot work with the slots.

Has anyone encountered this?

EDIT: I uh, this will be embarrassing, but I guess a software package deleted a key file and that happens to be ntfs-3g. I re-installed that and it's as good as new!

Doesn't matter - nothing to be embarrassed about.
Well done for solving and posting the fix.
