Trying to get Lexmark Z2300 to work.
So far no luck.
Anyone know if It's possible and if so how?
I found one file that apparently worked fine for someone else :
lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh
But it won't run on my system....
Anyone know if there's anything that'll run on Mint 14?

After a lot of mucking around, I can't find any drivers for my Lexmark Z2300 so I guess I'll have to buy another printer.
However in the mean time I have lots of cartridges & need to use, so I thought I'd set up a spare windows box I have on the LAN & configure the Z2300 on that, share the printer and then get Linux Mint to use the shared printer.
Can I do it? Can I buffalo!
I can't get cups to see the shared printer...
HELP!!
Are there no CUPS experts out there who might be able to help?
Why doesn't CUPS see the shared printer on the LAN?
Are the shares OS specific?

I don't have such a printer so I don't know if this'll help, but the problem could be 64 bit - you don't say... Also, I wonder if you are installing as per the Lexmark instructions as you mention CUPS - Lexmark don't and their driver is a deb file initiated in terminal. Finally, maybe use sudo in terminal when installing...
On top of all that, assuming you're running 32 bit Mint, have you tried re-downloading the Lexmark Z2300 driver lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh.zip from [url=http://support.lexmark.com/index?segment=SUPPORT&userlocale=EN_US&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_Z2300&page=product&frompage=null#1]here[/url]? Lexmark don't supply an MD5SUM so checking is moot, but it should be 29.91MB. I downloaded it: 31.4 MB (31366727 bytes)
