EPSON XP-235 / Image Scan v3

Hello...
I am using Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa 32-bit and everything works fine. I am a new Linux user and I am not familiar with terminal commands, but I am working on it...
Recently I bought an EPSON Expression Home XP-235 all-in-one inkjet printer, because of the need of a scanner. I connected the printer to my computer via USB cable.
Printer works perfectly but Simple Scan does not recognise the scanner. I visited the sane project website: http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html and unfortunately I didn't find XP-235 in the supported models.
Then I visited EPSON website in order to find there some solution. I found a scanner driver package in the following URL:
http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02 ... 051fb3c889
I clicked on the Accept button, then I selected the Package Download Page and I found the Image Scan v3 package for Linux Mint 17. So, I got the file:
imagescan-bundle-linuxmint-17-1.1.5.x86.deb.tar.gz
from the following URL: http://support.epson.net/linux/en/imagescanv3.html
I installed the file: imagescan_3.15.0-epson4linux17_i386.deb with GDebi Package Installer.
I run the application. Everything seemed to work fine. The application recognised the scanner and I got a preview of the document. The bad thing was that I couldn't save the scanned document. With the help of Nemo I found that - during my attempt to save - a file entry was normally created, but it disappeared at the end of the procedure.
So, is there any suggestion? Has this situation to do with application's write permissions?
I would be very greatful if you could help me to solve the problem.
My best regards
