HP Printer (SOLVED)

Old Pixma died so got a HP Deskjet 3632. Unable to get it to work, says is not compatible with Mint 17.3. Do i have to go back to an earlier Mint. PC picks it up, says is printing then printing finished though nothing prints. Thanks for any help

it's surprising that the inbuilt HPLIP doesn't support it !.
but - you could try installing the series rather than the model:
ie: 3600 rather than the specific 3632 model.

this site:

seems to suggest that it is supported, though.

so - try downloading that HPLIP file, from there.

Hello, noelw.

With respect to recent HP printers, Pierre is right. It will be necessary to download and install the most recent HPLIP software from the HP website.
Perhaps my recent experience in doing so for an HP LaserJet printer in this post here will be (partially) helpful to you as well.

According to Pierre's post, your printer requires at least hplip 3.15.6. However, you have installed version 3.15.2. Please go to the hplip web site and download the latest version of hplip: http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html

Thanks for that, i need new glasses. Printer now works with USB but when i try to connect wirelessly it keeps asking for password even though i have put it in. However at this point more than happy. Thank you
