I recently upgraded from Linux Mint 12 to Linux Mint 17. I use an Asus laptop.
I am trying to get my printer to work through wireless internet, but my attempts have been unsuccessful. The printer I use is HP Laserjet Pro MFP M 126mw.
The message I get each time is:
First, "Unable to locate wireless hardware on device" and then, "unable to turn on wireless adapter".
Please help.
Thanks,
Sahana

Re: Wifi adapter
We need a little more Information to be of help.
1. is the printer wireless capable? That is does it have it's own wireless card or his this to be a network printer of some sort directly connected to the server machine?
2. do you know the IP address of the printer? (Note: if your network is using DHCP, it's better to assign a fixed IP address for your printer.)
3. have you tried installing hplip-gui?

HP MFP M126nw needs a PLUG-IN I think
so HP have a page where you can check each device and this MFP needs hplip 3.14.3 ........ so what's on Mint 17 is 3.15 I believe so that should be fine
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imag ... ices/index
HOWEVER this device needs a PLUG-IN .....
so if one opens a terminal; types in that looks to see all the needed other software is ready to support hplip and if all is good if one types that should do all the needed; .. it should set stuff up
__________--
it would be worth reading this page from HP just to verify what is above

we have found that getting the plug-in installed will often bring light and joy
