install xpress m2070 drivers

Post by ACMilan1899 » Mon Jan 08, 2018 5:03 pm

How should I install Install Samsung Unified Printer Driver on LinuxMint 18.3?

I've tried with the drivers which I downloaded through Samsung website with no luck!

Model is Xpress M2070

Are this?
ULD_v1.00.29.tar.gz downloaded here?
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/conte ... .29.tar.gz

how did you install them? are you sure of the installation? have you launch the file install.sh with root privilege in the directory uld extracted form archive .tar.gz and accept the license?

here there is an older version of driver
http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/driver/Un ... .06.tar.gz

so minitux has given the pointers; we look to hear back from you ACMilan

from here, https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/se ... s/16450377 the new HP/Samsung driver site points you to the .37 version

and if I were going to install it, I would select SAVE when I downloaded it; it should end up in the Downloads folder; and the commands from there are

Code: Select all

cd Downloads

Code: Select all

tar -zxvf uld_v1.00.37_00.91.tar.gz

Code: Select all

cd uld

Code: Select all

sudo ./install.sh
and that final command should install both printer and scanner drivers; and register the printer with lpadmin
one should watch the terminal as the install script runs; as it is likely to ask questions that may need Y/N answers

_______________

as minitux points out, there is another source of the uld, http://bchemnet.com/suldr/ from a group of linux enthusiasts who say their version "provides an apt (.deb) repository for installing the Samsung Unified Linux Driver in a more user-friendly and less problematic way than downloading and installing directly from the Samsung website ". From experts, their website offers choices that may be hard for beginners; ideally one could navigate through the choices and choose a "do this" option
