Canon MG7750 Xsane problem with 18.3 cinammon

Post by mmyron »

Hi all!

I get an

Code: Select all

[bjnp] bjnp_open_tcp: ERROR - Can not connect to scanner: Connection refused
when I try to use xsane. ScangearMP works fine but the resolution sucks big time.
I've opened ports 8611 and 8612 with UFW and "scanimage -L" reports

Code: Select all

device `pixma:MG7700_192.168.72.85' is a CANON Canon PIXMA MG7700 Series multi-function peripheral
I am running out of moves here. Can anyone help?

For what is worth...Vuescan works...

Hi,
any progress on this?
I had a similar issue with my CANON MG5350 on Linux Mint 19 (Ubuntu 18.04)

via USB it working, via Wi-Fi it's not:

xxx@xxx:~$ scanimage -L
device `pixma:MG5300_192.168.10.19' is a CANON Canon PIXMA MG5300 multi-function peripheral

xxx@xxx:~$ scanimage -T
scanimage: scanning image of size 638x877 pixels at 24 bits/pixel
scanimage: acquiring RGB frame, 8 bits/sample
scanimage: reading one scanline, 1914 bytes... [bjnp] bjnp_open_tcp: ERROR - Can not connect to scanner: Connection refused
FAIL Error: Invalid argument

I tried to put myself into the group "scanner" and to use latest SANE daily git snapshots via ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~rolfbensch/+arch ... u/sane-git

it's frustrating :(
