OKI C5200 not printing (solved)

Connected using USB
Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia
Cinnamon

When i print it sees C5200n

Could not start printer.
Please check your printer configuration.
Is there linux drivers for the C5200n.

so if you look in the PRINTERS folder; there should be one? icon for the C5200;

right-click on that. select PROPERTIES: go down to MAKE & MODEL ..... drag the window to the right to see all the text ..... can you copy what is there .. and paste it back please?

interesting OPEN PRINTING; which is the place to look for open source support for printing in linux; lists the C5200 http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Oki/Oki-C5200

and it needs a different driver to the C5300 and the C5400

so let's see what you have currently set up this looks like a 14yr old printer; so you have done well to keep it going; and Oki have done well to build a good lasting machine;

it was released before Ubuntu was released; two years before Mint started ............... all a while ago

Make & Model Generic text-only printer

well; if you click on the MAKE & MODEL line in PROPERTIES; of the icon for C5200

select the CHANGE button;

pause while it looks in the database;

Select OKI;

scroll through the list; select C5200;

hit OK;

try to print

should I guess that means that the printer now works?
