HP 4500 All-in-One Driver Error

I am running LM 18.1 MATE. Every time I go to print something and connect my printer via USB, the system re-installs the printer driver. I have HPLIP 3.16.3 installed. I have never had this problem before with any version of Mint or HPLIP. Any ideas?
