Hello
I'm running Linux Mint 18.3 XFCE on a Lenovo T-410 Thinkpad. I recently purchased a Canon TR8520 multi function printer. It's attached to my wireless network. I was able to locate is a network printer without any problem. I downloaded and installed the Canon Debian print and scanner drivers without any issues. My problem? I can print fine, but I can't use the scanner. Both Simple-scan and Gscan2pdf report that there no scanners found. I did try to scan with the printer attached via a USB cable...same problem. Any suggestions? (My Dell Latitude with Linux Lite 3.8 also has the same issue)

Re: Canon Pixma TR8520 Printer/Scanner
Exactly same problem here but the Canon TS8053 printer-scanner.
The Linux doesn't recognize the scanner, there is no scanner; and the driver from the Canon company doesnt work.
Need to install some thing but what and how and where to find it?
Thank You for answers and hint.
