[SOLVED] Ricoh Aficio SG3110 DN

Post by eyeprotocol »

Hello all.

This Ricoh printer has it's own PPD (at openprinting.org), is automatically detected by Linux Mint (17/18/19), prints fine (with the PPD supplied) on anything i've tried it with (including Debian 9 and Ubuntu 18.04), but for some reason will not print after installing it on Linux Mint 19. I'am getting a "filter failed" notification, and nothing i recognize as helpful in /var/log/cups/error.log.

How is it possible for a printer to print under Ubuntu 18.04 but not under Linux Mint? Any ideas?

Note: i am using it as a network printer, have not tried to use it via the USB port yet.

Regards

One possible solution can be use same Kernel that you used in 18.3 in 19 too.
uname -r
gives the running kernel version

Thank you for trying.
However (if i am not mistaken) my 18.04 and 19 installations are running the same kernel at this point.
Still. Ubuntu prints, Mint does not.
