Epson Scanner on Linux Mint 18

Post by Gabriele »

Hi,

i got a epson scanner xp 255. I downloaded drivers and printer work fine but scanner do not with Scanlite, Xsane, ImageScan,SimpleScan.

No one reconize the scanner.

Does the method reported in viewtopic.php?f=51&t=273388&p=1514248&h ... r#p1514248 works in Linux Mint 18.

Because i could not find the folder /usr/lib/sane whereas x86_64-linux-gnu exist.

The printer is accessible from user desktop, is that possible some need other priviliges? How can i check?

I have also find this procedure (in viewtopic.php?t=228387 and viewtopic.php?p=1208012#p1208012)

Code: Select all

# /etc/init.d/saned restart
saned disabled; edit /etc/default/saned/

which should be give privilegies to user but I don't understood the behaviour
