HP LaserJet 6L via Netgear PS100 USB print server

Post by goodnight »

I need help installing a Netgear PS100 mini-print server on an HP LaserJet 6L printer in Linux.

I've tried to do so myself with no success. Online sources say the HP LaserJet 6L printer needs an hpijs Linux driver.

The Netgear PS100 mini-print server is supposed to connect to 192.168.1.236 via my router. It does that successfully in Windows. I think that is on a logical port and not on a hardware port.

Here's what CUPS shows, but the printer doesn't print or show any evidence of a connection with my laptop in the configuration shown:

Here is my system and hardware information. I'm a total newbie here and a newbie to Linux too so please assume I know nothing or we'll both be disappointed.
