HP Laserjet printer - duplex print not working

Post by mrprajesh »

Hello LM Friends,

I have installed Linux Mint 19 recently and configured printer using IP address. I have a problem in 2 sided printing with HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP as network printer.

Despite having this setting[as below] in the preferred printer properties i am not able to get a duplex printing.
I haven't had this problem in earlier LM versions i.e 18. I have also tried installing HPLIP but it did not help either.
The last time I configured a printer, during the setup there would be a checkbox to check "duplex" option which I didn't get this time.
Could you advice me on resolving this issue. Thank you.

Of course I selected this option from print setup.

I believe that printer requires the Plugin. Install HPLIP-GUI from Software Manager and locate the HPLIP Toolbox in Menu Preferences. The Actions tab for the printer should have "Install Required Plugin". The Toolbox GUI might also provide the option for duplex.
