Samsung M2675FN with Samsung Linux driver

Post by qbit »

Hello All!

I've recently installed Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon 32-bit, a new Samsung printer M2675FN as well.
From Samsung i downloaded uld_V1.00.39_01.17.tar.gz
extracting.... then "sudo sh install.sh" (new password input etc. , ok)

Well, the license-text is coming fine but when i expect
the "install-story"'s coming up
the friendly info "Permission denied" makes me confused.

Here is the end of text:
"....If you have any questions regarding this agreement and other products, please contact SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
**** Do you agree ? [y/n] : y
./noarch/package_install.sh: 46: ./noarch/package_install.sh: ./noarch/package_install.sh: Permission denied
**** Do you want to continue to install scan driver ? [y/n] :"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The good old "root" - login seems not to work anymore as in my old Linux "days", may be this has something to do with the problem.

Has anyone an idea to fix the "permission denied"-problem?

Thanks a lot

I just did a test install of that driver the other day for discussion on another thread. Ran the install to Mint 19.1 Cinnamon x64.

I think I 've solved the problem, just i set the permisson of package_install.sh in /uld/noarch to "allow executing as program".
The strange message "permission denied" did not come up again.
Installation is running and finished,
Thank you all for reading my posting and answer!
