[SOLVED] Epson L-3150 scanner not detected

Post by liberace »

I work with Linux Mint XFCE 20.1 and have installed the printer driver for the Epson L-3150 and the wifi printer works.
The wifi scanner cannot be detected after installing imagescan-bundle-linuxmint-20-3.65.0.x64.deb. The message is "no devices found" when i open the app.
I can see the wifi printer in the list of wifi connections.
I changed the IP address set in the file imagescan.conf in " ; myscanner.udi = esci:networkscan://192.168.223.1" . This IP address was on the network status sheet of the printer.
Any idea how to get the scanner work?

ipp-usb is for USB connections only; liberaceis is using WiFi. However, installing sane-airscan is an excellent suggestion.

Only when the connection is by USB. sane-airscan relies on a network connection. A wireless connection provides a network connection, so no problem there. A USB connection managed by ipp-usb is effectively turned into a network connection.

Nicely done, liberace. It would be very useful if you provided the outputs of

Code: Select all

scanimage -L

Code: Select all

airscan-discover

I had a similar problem; my two scanner programs (Simple Scan, and VueScan) could not scan, even if they "found" the scanner.

Loading sane-airscan did the trick.
