Samsung laser (usb) getting lots of errors

Post by hairybiker »

Since updating to 20.2 Cinnamon
Log file filling with
[436044.324609] usblp 1-1.1:1.0: usblp1: USB Bidirectional printer dev 3 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x04E8 pid 0x3252
[436114.326974] usblp1: removed

From a search it appears that blacklisting usblp is the way to go, just want to check before I do.

Do the log entries appear while printing? Is printing successful? What is the printer model?

I would be wary of blacklisting the usblp module.

It's a ML-2250 printing works fine, using the Samsung driver in CUPS.
The errors appear when it is idle.

Thanks. I'd tend to ignore the issue, but might be tempted to read and explore
