2. All had been recognized by Mint Cinnamon and were installed with the Brother as default.
3. Wireless connection for each checked and working. (This is a dual-boot arrangement and printing capability on this computer was verified by printing through Windows 10 prior to the freeze in #6 below.)
4.Tried to print and print symbol displayed with job # in Task Bar for each printer tried.
5. Checked Printers-Localhost and jobs showed as being held. Released the hold and still failed to print. Highlighted job showed alternately between processing the job and no connection.
6. Chose "Assign to different printer" (in this case the HP Envy) and the system froze requiring a reboot.
7. Retried printing after restart with the same failed results.
8. Libreoffice upgrade installed from Flatpak source as the supplied version would not recognize files from a more advanced version. However, there are no settings in Libreoffice which would account for this failure and no settings within Libreoffice were changed from default installation settings.
9. I am not a Terminal proficient user but I can follow instructions and given commands.
10. I've had Linux Mint installed before although not this current release and never had this problem in the past.
Help please. (No longer needed for this issue.)
Problem resolved by checking the "Enabled" boxes for each printer through the printer settings menu. One would have thought the printers would be enabled by default when the Mint software was installed, but apparently this is not the case. Manual enabling by checking a box is required. Now if I can figure out how to mark this post as "Solved".
