Updating drivers and uninstalling Brother ADS-1200 scanner

Post by Netherprovinc3 »

Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon 64 bit.
I installed drivers for this devices on a computer that I use to test things.
Here is the download and the instructions:
https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloa ... &type3=566

I'd like to install the scanner on my main computer because I really need to do some scanning.

However, I am a little uncomfortable doing that because I don't know how to update once there is a new version of this .deb file available.

Also, I don't know how to uninstall whatever the .deb file installed.

I found information about how to uninstall the drivers.
https://support.brother.com/g/b/faqend. ... 100608_000

Those instructions say to use these commands

Code: Select all

dpkg -P (scanner-driver-name)
dpkg -l | grep brscan
