canon MX922 print quality

Post by pegasis »

Hello

my printer was printing ok, but started printing poorly, (barley visible)

I can run a test print and the print is great, but any other print is fuzzy, barely visible.

is there some setting I need to adjust?

Thanks

Apart from the printer make and model, your original post contained little information.

Mint version? USB or network? Canon drivers installed? The output of

Code: Select all

I gave four queries. You have answered one of them! Why be picky?

ipp-usb is much, much better than ippusbxd. Even ippusbxd's author says so. Do

Code: Select all

sudo apt purge ippusbxd

Pass. I've never met this (loaded but inactive). A firmware update needed? Reboot?

Splendid.

I would like some information about this device. Do you think you could manage that? The outpus of

Code: Select all

avahi-browse -rt _ipp._tcp

Code: Select all

avahi-browse -rt _uscan._tcp
would be a start.

if you go to the PRINTERS folder; using in ADMINISTRATION

how many icons are there in that, for your printer please?

If one, can you right-click the icon; select PROPERTIES; and drag the window to the right, to fully open it;

can you give us a screenshot or tell us what the line MAKE & MODEL says please?

thanks; so this is at least a 9yr old device, and it looks like you have downloaded the canon driver (version 3.9) and that is what is running the printing

https://asia.canon/en/support/0100517002?model=6992B

it seems it is all working well for you now
