[SOLVED] Continuing Epson printer problems / cups-pki-expired
I am posting this as a new topic, but it is actually a continuation of the JazzBass post.
I have a desktop running LM21 cinnamon and a laptop running LM21 Mate. Both have lost printing function and have the cups-pki-expired error message. Lets fix the laptop first, not that I think the problem is hardware related.
I have followed the process that JazzBass and Xenopeek have outlined. I downloaded the drivers from Epson, but when I try to install the package, I get the message that the package already exists. I select install new package anyway, but it just circles back to the 'package already exists' message. Okay, so I press on to Control Center>Printers to add a new printer,
My confusion is where JazzBass chose IPP network printer via DNS-SD, I already have that in my network printer parameters (see below)
ipps://EPSON%20WF-3620%20Series._ipps._tcp.local/
IPP network printer via DNS-SD
Remote CUPS printer via DNS-SD (Epson_WF_3620_series@marc-600-1350)
I also removed ippusbxd.
So, what am I doing wrong/not doing/making a wrong turn? Is there a thread that already solves this and I just don't know what to search for? Could really use some guidance and I appreciated everyone's time and help.
Thank-you.

This device is AirPrint-capable. Epson drivers should not be needed. Give the outputs from
Code: Select all

The is another URI. It is preferred to the first one. However, you now have two URIs. Try both in turn in this command:Driverless

Re: Continuing Epson printer problems / cups-pki-expired
Well, I thought that was how the command was to be structured, but then I second guessed myself and talked myself out of it.
Thanks, I learned something.
For the first command:
lpadmin -p Wf3620 -v "ipp://192.168.12.177/ipp/print" -E -m everywhere
I get no return at all.
For the second command:
gryphon@gryphon-Inspiron-5735:~$ lpadmin -p Wf3620 -v "ipps://EPSON%20WF-3620%20Series._ipps._tcp.local/" -E -m everywhere
lpadmin: Success
When I tried to do a test print, I got nothing - not even a failure or error window.
I did print off a document on my windows machine just to make sure the printer was not down.
Thanks, I learned something.

Re: Continuing Epson printer problems / cups-pki-expired
Sorry, I missed that request.
After I sent the previous post, I did some updates and rebooted. The print error panel came up then.
Progress....
When I ran;
simple-scan "airscan:w1:EPSON WF-3620 Series"
The printer ran a scan, which I saved. I went to the documents folder and was able to print the saved scan. I did have 2 listings for the printer under the general tab;
WF 3620 (which worked and allowed me to print the scan)
and
EPSON_WF_3620_SERIES which showed it was PAUSED.
So on a whim, I brought up the print dialogue box (CTL+P0) and found WF 3620 listed and was able to print a copy of this forum page.
Seems like I need to remove the other printer listings and/or make WF 3620 the default print listing?
However, out of curiosity, I looked at the print dialogue box on the desktop running cinnamon and it does not have the "WF 3620" listing and it will not print from either of the 2 listings.
