Re: Now cannot connect to network
This is why it's better to update the kernel if possible. Some of those instructions for installing.......Found the driver for the Realtek 8125..but I am incompetent on how to install it?
Per this:
So you should be able to update the kernel. (ps: 5.13 *is* later than 5.4.....this always confuses me a little, lol)Linux support for the RTL 8125 is relatively new and newer revisions like RTL 8125B require a very new kernel. Linux 5.4.x is the first long term supported Linux kernel with support for the RTL 8125 chip. It supports the RTL 8125A, but it does not support RTL8125B. Support for RTL8125B was not introduced until Linux 5.9.

Re: Now cannot connect to network
I am back to loosing Network connection again, wifi is okay...what kernel should I roll back too, and where do I do it???
Re: Now cannot connect to network
I would think the 5.13 kernel would be better on that newer machine. Install it in Update Manager, View, Linux Kernels & reboot.
If that doesn't help, you can try the 5.14-oem kernel with:
Reboot
If that doesn't help, you can try the 5.14-oem kernel with:
Code: Select all
sudo apt install linux-oem-20.04d

Re: Now cannot connect to network
Good, stay with the 5.13 kernel then if it works for you.
