Nope, same problems.

I have also problems to detect wireless networks. There must be an issue with NetworkManager.

I plug-in Edimax
Start Mint
No networks detected
I plug-in Ralink wifi usb dongle
Ralink detect networks and now Edimax also detect networks.

Another issue: in NetworkManager if i set Ralink to OFF, Edimax goes by its own to OFF, if I set Edimax to ON, Ralink goes ON too. So it is impossible to connect only using Edimax

But Edimax keeps disconnecting.

This is a weird issue.

It might be the bluetooth chipset causing the rename,

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist btusb" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/btusb.conf
Reboot

Blacklisted, no bt driver loaded, and still the same issues, I begin to think that I have a kind of driver conflict, I will start anew installing OS and making a clean installation of the driver with your usb addition.

Jeremy, what's the differences between your driver (4.3.13) and the 5.2.20 version that is suggested in the first message? I think I sometime tried the 5.x version and didnt even detect my usb (i changed the VendorID in the appropiate file as you suggested).

All, I have the same issue. I followed the instructions, but didn't work. However, I have Mint20.2. Should I open a new thread?

BTW, on the issue there also are:

viewtopic.php?f=52&t=351005&p=2026793&h ... B#p2026793

and (maybe, because my dongle is based on rtl8821, and not rtl8812)

viewtopic.php?f=249&t=344721&p=1986032& ... B#p1986032

I also tried to install the official linux package from here:

https://www.edimax.com/edimax/mw/cufile ... .0.0.8.zip

Thanks, lozanoje. It sounds very bad. Have you tried to follow the instructions on the other threads as well? The ones I posted. Have you tried with different Kernels or even machines?

BTW, lozanoje, I tried the following:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install git dkms
git clone https://github.com/aircrack-ng/rtl8812au.git
cd rtl8812au
sudo make dkms_install
and it seems working (after having rebooted the machine)

I took it from:
viewtopic.php?f=52&t=351005&p=2026793&h ... B#p2026793

Remember my posts were from 2019, so probably now drivers have improve compatibility, but by that time I tried everything, including multiple drivers and kernels, no suceed. I still have the stick somewhere around, so I will try to have a backup stick.

Thanks for reporting!

No problem. I actually use Mint 20.2 with kernel 5.13.0-22, running on a Ryzen5 machine.

Good luck!
