[SOLVED] Wifi option disappeared from menu

Post by soyka »

I have used Linux Mint for about 2 years. I was watching youtube, and wifi just disconnected. And the option to turn on wifi has disappeared.

I don't see an obvious cause, so try:

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi && sudo modprobe iwlwifi && sudo systemctl restart network-manager.service

Is this query correct? When I enter this query into the terminal, first of all, my wired connection was disconnected, and there is no output in the terminal.

Yes, it would disconnect & then reconnect. But, still no working wifi?

I see your kernel is a bit old, you might want to update to the 5.4.0-124 kernel. Take all updates available in Update Manager.

Did you try it with the ethernet cable unplugged? Sometimes ethernet blocks wifi.

Before this situation, I didn`t use wired ethernet. And now when I try to unplug the cable, nothing changes.

When I tried to do this I noticed that on Windows Wi-Fi also doesn't work. The same problem.

Windows 10. I went to the network adapter and Intel(R) wireless ac 9560 driver 160mhz doesn`t work (code 10). So firstly I tied to update it, but this action didn't help. Then I tried to delete that driver (this tip I found in Google), but it also didn't help. The night passed. I turn on laptop(OS Linux) and Wi-Fi works, I don't know what actually happens, but I hope that Wi-Fi will work.
