Very slow download Speeds on my TP-Link WN821n Network adapter

Post by Soneone2305 »

Hey guys , Am new to Linux so please bear with me , but I really couldn't find my way through this one anywhere else ..
I've Dual-Booted Windows 10 with Mint and can surely say that the download speeds i receive in Mint are painfully slow , and even downloading the updates through download manager is taking too long for the size of the updates .. I use a External USB network adapter (TP-Link WN821N to be specific) and couldn't really find a fix for this anywhere . So any suggestions fixes would be highly appreciated .Thanks in advance :)

You really won't get much useful help unless we can see what you are running.

Meaning. post the results of the command in a terminal window

inxi -Fxxxrz

So you type that command in a terminal window, press enter. highlight the results. "copy" it ( right click and select copy..or ctrl c or ctrl shift c ), then come back here, click that </> ( fifth from the left just above the message window) and then "paste" (ctrl v )

That's what the gittiest ...meant :)

It doesn't provide any personally identifiable information, BUT....it provides a decent wealth and often enough to help narrow down many problems.

A small confusion , the driver mentioned in the link is for my external USB network adapter or my integrated Realtek network driver ?

The link points to the TPL WN821 instructions as that is what your title says the problem is with.
Do you have problems with the internal one also?
