Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon WIFI super slow
I have a connection of about 300 mbps in download, from the windows desktop (wifi) and the phone (wifi) everything is fine and the speedtest show the correct speed.
However with the laptop with Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon, the download is only around 6 mbps, sometimes even slower that the websites don't load.
What could be the issue? I can't try with the LAN cable as there is no port and I need the wifi on the laptop to be as good as on the desktop.

Please open a terminal window and enter these 2 commands
After a pause, a termbin.com URL will appear in the Terminal window. Paste that URL into a reply
Code: Select all
wget -N -t 5 -T 10 https://github.com/UbuntuForums/wireless-info/raw/master/wireless-info && chmod +x wireless-info && ./wireless-info

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon WIFI super slow
According to your termbin output, you should be using channel 3 or 9 since channel 6 is the most crowded and they are the least crowded. Try changing the channel in Network Settings. Let me know if we need to go further.

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon WIFI super slow
Today the connection is better. I tried to change the channel and instead of AUTO (which gives me always channel 6), put manual channel 3 or 9, but the connection does not work and it create another connection with the same ID but with the setting as AUTO.Larry78723 wrote: ⤴Thu Jul 22, 2021 10:31 am According to your termbin output, you should be using channel 3 or 9 since channel 6 is the most crowded and they are the least crowded. Re: Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon WIFI super slow
Unfortunately the connection on Mint is still super slow. I can barely stream youtube videos, they keep on buffering every 5/20 seconds.
