I'm not seeing any wifi hardware in the lists. Try opening that desktop and reseating the wireless card. While you're in there, you might as well do some "spring cleaning".

Most 6-year-old machines have accumulated dust in them over the years. This is an opportunity to clean the dust bunnies out. Reseating the wifi card involves removing the wifi card and plugging it back in.

This is all that was registered during the OS install. Not sure I know how to reset the wireless card. Is there a specific command?
Also, what do you mean by "spring cleaning"? Total newbie here
He means a spray can of compressed air. But let's stick to the issue at hand.
1st. Try re plugging in that usb wifi card. Also since you have multiple usb ports ( and both varieties..usb 2.0 and 3.0) just to rule that variable out if the 1st part doesn't matter...try a different usb port AND as well try a different type. If you tried usb 3.0, try 2.0 and vice versa and re do those commands to see if anything shows up/changes
Depending on the chipset inside that USB wireless card, you may need to download and install a specific driver ( had to do that on my 4790k backup/testing rig with my usb netgear n600 old card and then it worked 100% versus without doing that method..it was recognized..showed up in lsusb && lspci && rfkill list && mokutil --sb-state command(s) ...yet refuse to SEE any wireless networks...to connect to. odd thing to me)
Can you tell us the brand and model of that usb wifi card?

Previously was using a 2.0 port, now I tried on a 3.0 port and it showed up.

Absolutely. A huge THANK YOU to Larry78723 and motoryzen for their guide
*nods humbly*
Na..I have a long ways to go to catch up with people like Larry and SMG. SMG's driver installation method is exactly how I got my netgear n600 to be recognized by my backup desktop after researching it. I just couldn't remember which driver or the commands involved at the time before SMG posted that fix.
Happy the problem is solved
Cheers

Thank you sleeper12. Also thanks to all other contributors
Tried this after getting nowhere with usb wireless keyboard intermittent problems, usb mouse right click button intermittent, and usb wireless dongle playing up.
All now working as they used to.

I seem to have the same problem as this but following this advice has not been successful for me. Do you mind helping me out? I asked for help on another platform, check the link for more information:
@atgeeuw - Please read How to get help paying special attention to item #5 and start a thread of your own.

Larry means all good vibes. It's just that he makes sense about starting your own thread for the following reasons and possibly not limited to these below:
1. Thread hijacking isn't allowed here.
2. There is always the chance that your exact situation is not the same as the OP's ( possibly different hardware...different troubleshooting steps may be needed....etc )... So it prevents any confusion on anyone else visiting who is trying to sift through multiple users' PC's configurations to find which one is most applicable to him or her own.
....Just to explain the main reasons why.
