<SOLVED> Linux Mint 20.2 - Wi-Fi Network Authentication Required

Post by blahen16 »

I am new to Linux Mint and dual-booted it on my 2018 Mac Book Pro. Everything works fine expect I cannot connect to my Wi-Fi. I have double and triple checked that I am entering the correct passcode and have changed it just to be sure. I can connect to my phones hotspot. I have an AC2100 Triband RockSpace mesh System that works well on all of my other devices except Linux. Any help would be appreciated!

Larry,

Do you think this could be related to Fast Startup in Windows?

@sleeper12 - It's possible but I don't think so in this case. OP states "Everything works fine expect I cannot connect to my Wi-Fi. I have double and triple checked that I am entering the correct passcode and have changed it just to be sure." That sounds more like it's not accepting the password.

@blahen16 - Double-check Win10 and make sure that Fast Restart is disabled in Power Options just to make sure that it isn't interfering with wifi in Mint.

Ok, if not that, the only other thing I can think is maybe the 5.11 kernel would be worth a try.

@Larry When you say "Double-check Win10 and make sure that Fast Restart is disabled in Power Options just to make sure that it isn't interfering with wifi in Mint" are you referring to windows 10? I have Apples newest OS running not Windows. Does that change anything?

Thanks

The power-management is still turned off and I tried installing the firmware. Neither fixed it. I will restart my router and laptop when I get back home. Thanks for trying to help so far.
