Extremely rare wifi problem

Post by badlalo »

I have tried absolutely everything yet the same problem persists with different distros (for expample: Ubuntu 20.04, debian 11, ubuntu 21. I can't remember and finally the distro I've decided to stay with is Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon)

The error is my Wifi, it is enabled, all drivers are up to date (Broadcom b43) ethernet connection works just fine but no wifi networks are displayed.
I've tried everything and im a big noob to Linux in general (that's why I decided to install and learn) but it bugs me that I cannot connect to a wireless network. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated and I can provide any info needed

Without some technical information, we can’t help you. Please post an inxi -Fxpmzr report. This will give us a concise overview of your hardware and how Mint sees it per  How to get help .

Here is how to generate the report and post it:
Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Copy the following code and paste into the terminal (Ctrl-Shft-V) then hit Enter/Return:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxpmrz
exactly as it has been typed here.

Go to Edit, Select All, and then Copy, come back here, click on reply then code tags, </>, and then paste.
The results will help us to help you.

Try:

Code: Select all

 sudo modprobe -rv bcma wl

Code: Select all

 sudo modprobe -v wl
Reboot if needed.

If that's no help, post the results of:

Code: Select all

 rfkill list && iwconfig && mokutil --sb-state

Do you have Windows on that machine or Mint only?

Badlalo, I would try installing the Kernel 5.11.0.38 or an old Kernel than you are presently using.
This can be done via the update manager.

Good Luck.

EDIT: Check out this thread. The second post from the bottom maybe your answer.
