I have Realtek wifi card with chipset rtl8723be.
It works really well on my Linux Mint 20.3 with Kernel 5.4.0-124-generic - the internet is fast, but after some time, randomly it drops the connection to the internet.
The WiFi icon shows that the laptop is connected to the WiFi, but there is no internet.
When this happens I have to turn off the WiFi, turn it on, and then the internet is working again.
My iwconfig:
Code: Select all
wlp8s0 IEEE 802.11 ESSID:"NETGEAR099"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz
Bit Rate=72.2 Mb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm
Retry short limit:7 RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality=70/70 Signal level=-14 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:18 Missed beacon:0
Code: Select all
options rtl8723be swenc=1 ips=0 swlps=0 fwlps=0 aspm=0 ant_sel=2
I tried changing modprobe settings to use ant_sel=1/2 but after rebooting the issue still occurs.
I think this issue started with some kernel update, when I installed Linux Mint one year ago I did not notice any issues with the internet.
I would really appreciate a help with this.
