Wi-Fi and BT hardware problems.

Post by themiauxddev23 »

Hello everyone! I'm having a problem having a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection at the same time. When I connect any Bluetooth device to my PC, such as a headset, the Wi-Fi does not work. The connection is cut. Trying to see what's going on, I find that the hardware appears to be "overloading" because the BT is working fine. I can hear sound clearly, but the Wi-Fi feels like I wrapped my PC in foil. The Wi-Fi signal becomes very low, so it detects very few networks with a very low signal. And when connecting to the network, I just can't surf, only if I turn off BT.
Back in my Windows days, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth were both working fine, but here at LM it hasn't worked since ever, so I don't think it's a hardware issue, or antenna issue, or anything like that, but... What can I do about it?

As always, I would appreciate any collaborative comments or suggestions. :D

It is a driver and power management issue. However we may be able to at least get you a stronger wireless signal

Please follow the instructions and post your inxi output - http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=83444
I’ll tell you a DNS joke but be advised, it could take up to 24 hours for everyone to get it.

To start, others here need detailed data about your PC hardware and system software.
  1. Use the Mint menu system to launch System Reports.
  2. Click on System information there. Your system details appear.
  3. At the bottom-right of that window, click on the [Copy] button.
  4. Your clipboard now contains your PC information text. Open a Reply here, then tap Ctrl-V to paste all the text into it.

Your detailed PC specifications can then be reviewed by others here for diagnostic & remedy suggestions.

okay, your wireless adapter isn't one of the usual culprits for poor performance but anyway, try these tips:

https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c ... t.html#ID2

also, if you have a wireless mouse dongle plugged into your laptop, move it as far away as possible from the wireless adapter card. hopefully you have at least one port on the far side from it. EDIT - You do, the ports on the side the CPU fan outlets are.
I’ll tell you a DNS joke but be advised, it could take up to 24 hours for everyone to get it.
