Unable to connect to WiFi connections in my work place

Post by vw98075 »

I can connect my Dell laptop with Linux Mint 18.3 at home, but can't do so in my office. In my office, I see some security options for WiFi connections.
  • None
WEP 40/128-bit Key (Hex or ASCII)
    WEP 128-bit Passphrase
    LEAP
    Dynamic WEP (802.1x)
    WPA & WPA2 Personal
    WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
There are two WiFi connections: one requests an individul's user name and password and the other request a single password. After trying all possible combinations on those security setups, I don't have a luck. Windows and Macs don't have such problem.

How to set up the WiFi connection security?

Hello vw98075,

You'll have to find out from your IT people what protocol they are using on that network.
Some work places will only accept mac and windows clients and will block all others.
I worked in one place that would only accept windows machines on their network.
So my advice is to ask the IT people what's up.

IF, as my workplace required, Windows Only, install the Firefox Addon UserAgent Switcher.

this is how I have mine setup:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0

The problem is about the network connection. I don't thnk that is anything to do with a browser.
