Ralink RT5572 and Network Manager

Post by cbrace » Thu Dec 06, 2018 12:19 pm

Hi all,

I recently picked up a dual-band USB wireless adapter for my laptop running Mint. It was advertised as Linux and Rasberry Pi compatible, always a good sign :)

Plugging it into a USB port, the device is immediately recognized, and I can select my WiFi AP in Network Manager via the network device name, wlxdc4ef40491c3 (!)

But it fails to connect. No authentication error. It simply gives up after a minute or two.

I configured wap_supplicant to connect to my AP. That works fine.

Any ideas as to why NM can't manage this?

I'm running the LMDE 3 version of Mint.
