Intel centrino advanced-n 6230 "connects" but no internet

Hello,

I am currently running Maya 64-bit Gnome edition with Cinnamon. My machine is a Sony Vaio notebook, equipped with an intel centrino advanced-n 6230 wireless network card. When I use the icon in the task bar, it finds my wireless network and then queries me for the WPA-password. I enter the password, and "Successfully connected" or something will appear. However, I cannot browse to any website. When I try to ping, I cannot even ping my own router, let alone an outside website.

This strange issue also occurred on Ubuntu and Sabayon Linux and I have been unable to find a solution. However, strangely enough, the most recent Fedora (17) works fine. But then again, it must be about the only thing in Fedora to work fine :D. Any ideas as to where to look for a solution?

Thank you!

Dear updatedb:

Just searched out this link  :

http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=intel+centrino+n+6230

which hopefully leads you to the answer and solution you can use. The originating site - http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org - really helped me to finally connect to the internet using wireless, while dealing with my computer's Intel Centrino Wireless n 6150. Also, following the troubleshooting processes leading up to the solution(s) was educational.

Good luck.
