Wireless refusing to connect, need some ideas
Posted: Tue Nov 20, 2012 6:11 pm
Installed Mint 1.3 and can't get the wireless to connect. I just get caught in an endless loop of "enter password for wifi". Used the network manger to set it up to match the router: 104/128bit WEP, Key: 1(default) PW: blablablah.
Here is what I get from mintWyfi.py:
-------------------------
* I. scanning WIFI PCI devices...
-- Atheros Communications Inc. AR5416 Wireless Network Adapter [AR5008 802.11(a)bgn] (rev 01)
==> PCI ID = 168c:0023 (rev 01)
-------------------------
*
II. querying ndiswrapper...
-------------------------
*
III. querying iwconfig...
lo no wireless extensions.
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any

Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management:off
eth0 no wireless extensions.

IV. querying ifconfig...

VI. querying nslookup google.com...

I noticed the encryption key is off, but network manger was set to use the WEP. Is there a way to force the wifi to turn it on other than the manger? Or is this even a problem?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
