Felicia & 8.10

Post by Steve Payne »

Was wondering if anyone else is having wireless issues with Felicia and/or 8.10? All was well with Mint 5 and 8.04, but something somewhere has changed with Felicia & 8.10. Still using ndiswrapper (flawless in 5 and 8.04) -- my wireless tells me I'm connected but anything requiring internet access (mintupdate, synaptic, e-mail, internet, etc...) doesn't work.

Thanks!

I've seen similar reports and I believe the problem was name resolution (DNS)
Try to ping an ip that is known to respond nicely, like google

Code: Select all

ping -c 2 74.125.79.147
(Yes you can ping directly from the terminal)
If you get a response the problem is this
