The wireless does not work. It did work before I installed a new wireless router - Linksys WRT 1200 AC. I can connect to the router with a cable and all is well. I can get on the internet.

When I turn the computer on I get the "Waiting 60 seconds more for network access". Then is says that the network manager is not working. Sudo start network-manager says that the network manager is already running.

The computer is a Dell Inspiron E-1505 that requires the FN+F2 to start wireless. Its got me stumped. I did not change anything on the computer. Now FN+F2 will not start wireless.

I can run mintwifi but I cannot copy and post. I can transcribe part of it if I knew what is the most important part.

I think I might be missing something but I can't figure out what it is.

I don't know if it's possible for the router to turn off one of its frequencies, but try this. Connect to the router using an ethernet cable, go to the routers web page, and see if the router is using the 2.4 GHz frequency. I have an E1505 and I'm pretty sure the laptop cannot pick up the 5 GHz frequency, so the router would have to be broadcasting on 2.4 GHz.

Are you seeing the network icon in the system tray on the bottom right of the screen? If you click on it, does it say if the laptop's wifi is turned on? Did you recently update the wireless drivers? What wireless card does it have? The STA drivers that the hardware drivers program installs don't work for my E1505. If the hardware drivers program shows that the STA drivers are installed, try connecting to the internet using an ethernet cable, uninstalling the STA drivers, then use Synaptic package manager to install the broadcomm firmware-b43-installer and b43-fwcutter packages.
