This is my first post and I am in no way an expert so hang with me here. So I bought an archer t4u USB wireless adapter for my Linux mint 17.3 computer and was attempting to install the drivers for it. I inserted the packaged resource disk and ran the autorun.exe file through wine just as the instructions told me. The program loaded, however when I began driver installation it came up with a error saying "wireless network adapter is not detected" and the installation is cancelled.
Just to be clear I have tried connecting the device in all different USB ports including ones that I know work and gave gotten the same response.
I have some theories but I want to see what you guys thought. Also, like I said, i'm a newbie at this so please try to be as simple as possible. Thanks.

Re: Archer t4u usb wireless adapter not detected
The autorun.exe file would install a Windows driver, which cannot work in Linux.
What kernel is running in your Linux mint 17.3, and is your adapter version 1 or 2?
If kernel 3.19 and adapter version 1, get and follow http://www.tp-link.us/res/down/soft/Arc ... 150821.zip
If a later kernel or version 2, try https://askubuntu.com/questions/533408/ ... t4u-driver
