Intermittent WiFi Drops Mint 17.3 64bit Cinnamon

Post by RavingLoony »

Hi
Have been very impressed with Mint & have been using for about 4 months & am seriously considering dropping WinX as I get more done in Mint. No probs apart from this one. Am in the same room as the WiFi router & generally works OK (am about 1.25 metres from the router LoS with a min 84% strength but sometimes up around 90+) *but* I sometimes get intermittent connection. Very noticeable on Skype when it happens. Have seen reference to updating the kernel & as I am still very new to this environment am a bit unsure if this can be done safely by me.

Below is my config any advice (simple stuff if possible) gratefully received.

Hello ,with the following link as a guide line please find the chip used for your wi fi. And using power management for your chip change the option to always powered on.

If I have helped you solve a problem, please add [SOLVED] to your first post title, it helps other users looking for help, and keeps the forum clean.
