Realtek 8723Ae hard blocked

Post by lukepopi »

Dear Mint forum :

Today I installed Linux mint 18 64 bits cinnamon and I see that my Wifi card does not work.
Then what I did was a rfkill list.

Code: Select all

1: phy0: Wireless LAN
			Soft blocked: No
			Hard blocked: Yes
	2: hci0: Bluetooth
		    Soft blocked: No
		    Hard blocked: No

Probe doing a rfkill unblock all and is not unlocked, then make an inxi -Fxz with these results:

Code: Select all

Network: Card-1: Realtek RTL8723AE PCIe Wireless Network Adapter driver: rtl8723ae port: e000 bus-ID: 01:00.0
IF: wlp1s0 state: down mac: <filter>
Card-2: JMicron JMC250 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller
           driver: jme v: 1.0.8 ports: d100 d000 bus-ID: 02:00.5
IF: enp2s0f5 state: down mac: <filter>

I do not know what else to do in order to solve this problem, I ask if you could please help me solve it since I am new to this system.

Thank you very much greetings

Is there a switch or a button that can enable/disable wireless? Is there a setting in BIOS? Have you powered down, removed battery and power cord and pressed the power button for 20 seconds? Reset the BIOS to defaults?

What is the manufacturer and model number?

There is a combination of keys to turn the wifi card on and off at the moment it is on, in the BIOS there is no type of configuration that allows to disable the board.

The manufacturer of the notebook is Positivo BGH and the model is F810

Unfortunately the one fix isn't easy as something in the BIOS is blocking the card. If you can power down the computer and remove the wireless card, you can put a small piece of tape over pin 20 and it should allow you to use wifi.

Shows the position of pin 20 looking at the back side of the card, the antenna connectors are on the opposite side
