After a clean install of mint 18.2 my bluetooth is not working at all.
When i open the bluetooth panel, i can pair to devices but that's all.
If i pair to a bluetooth speaker, the device won't appear in sound settings to be used as output ; if i pair to a android device, i cant send any file to it.
I had no problems with bluetooth in mint 18.1
Anyone else facing these problems ?

Re: Bluetooth problems on mint 18.2
Hi,
I have fairly recently installed LM18.2 and had problems with bluetooth. I won't bore you with the list... the only thing that saved me from pulling out lots of hair was that with 18.1 & 17.3 it was always a hit & miss affair with BT so i was used to the tra la la!!!
You'll get very helpful people sending you to the command line to type this and that - but before you get there it might be worth while trying the simple solution that i tried through sheer frustration. Install Blueman from the Software Repo. For me it worked ('almost' 100% as i still have an anomaly with one machine on my Home network & a bluetooth headset was initially a bit of a struggle).
Best of luck

Re: Bluetooth problems on mint 18.2
I also had problems with bluetooth, uninstalled blueberry, the default bluetooth application in LM 18.x and installed blueman, so I solved the problem.

Re: Bluetooth problems on mint 18.2
Here is the right fix.
Change #AutoEnable=false to AutoEnable=true in the /etc/bluetooth/main.conf (notice new line is un-commented)
Unpair the headset
Restart the bluetooth service sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart
Pair your headset again and connect it
Go to sound settings. From the output device tab you should now see the headset listed along with other output device like internal speakers
Choose it as the sound output device.
