Glad you found a solution. I assumed (wrongly) that you had the same WIFI hardware as I did, because my HP laptop model is "HP-Laptop-15-bw0xx". My WIFI adapter model is RTL8723BE, while yours is very nearly but not quite the same! Hope you're enjoying your new laptop running Linux as much as I am! Cheers.
