I previously posted about some wireless problems I had here.
Well, fast forward a bit and I got a 5Ghz capable router. The problem is that although it sees the network, I cannot authenticate to it. The passphrase is absolutely correct. I see these in dmesg:
[ 144.235626] wlan0: authenticate with <MAC 'AP5' [AC10]>
[ 144.284943] wlan0: send auth to <MAC 'AP5' [AC10]> (try 1/3)
[ 144.286361] wlan0: send auth to <MAC 'AP5' [AC10]> (try 2/3)
[ 144.287612] wlan0: send auth to <MAC 'AP5' [AC10]> (try 3/3)
[ 144.288876] wlan0: authentication with <MAC 'AP5' [AC10]> timed out
Has anyone been successful with this?

Are you still using the same driver from the Linux 4.4 backports are you mentioned in that other thread?

Yes, but I also tried this. That one broke wifi completely.
