A mystery SSID appears after restarting my laptop and goes away after about 20 minutes. It's called HOME-2BDF-5. None of my other devices see it. LinSSID does not see it.
My laptop insists on trying to connect to it after each restart until I tell it to stop. It can't connect; the SSID is secured; it doesn't ask for a password automatically, just spins trying to connect.
Linux Mint 17.3, Dell XPS13

Re: Mystery SSID HOME-2BDF-5
Strange issue... Take a look in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections
You should see a file called HOME-2BDF-5. Save a copy of it and remove it from this location. I believe that will stop this behavior.

Re: Mystery SSID HOME-2BDF-5
Well, it seems to have stopped. I think I did what you suggest via the GUI, Wifi Networks>Edit Connections>Delete. Just needed one more restart, I guess.
Thanks for the response. This was so strange I didn't think anyone would believe me.
