Wireless Hotspot connects but does not share internet after reboot

Post by haltermak »

Hello,

When I moved into my dorm I decided to connect my laptop directly to the wall and create a hotspot instead of buying a router, because the internet on my laptop was much faster that way. However, every time I reboot my computer (such as to switch back to Windows to play certain games), and boot linux again I find that when I create a wireless hotspot, the connected devices cannot access the internet. They can connect to the network, and communicate with my laptop directly. But when I try to go to a website it gives me a T-rex saying there's no internet connection. I'm able to fix the problem by going into network connections, deleting the hotspot, and then re creating it by creating a new hotspot. However, it didn't used to do this, and it is a little inconvenient to do this every time I have to start Linux.

I'm running Linux mint cinammon, and this is the output of the -inxi -Fxz command as one of the pinned topics suggested.
