Just installed Linux Mint 18.2 Sonya Machine: System: Hewlett-Packard (portable) product: HP G61 Notebook PC
Wireless worked perfect with cdrom now does not work after install using a cable Internet works can not flip the on off switch to on.
Any suggestions to making the wireless switch work?
Before making any post or replies on this site I update and upgrade linux mint.

Before posting on this site I always verify I have the latest version of Linux Mint Cinnamon installed and run Update Manager.

Isn't there a button near the power button for wifi? Does it change the rfkill list result?

Yup that was it , right next to the power button is the wifi button, it was not labeled just an icon none of my laptops has a wifi button, havent been to icon college so had no clue this is the wifes old laptop she quit using soon as windows FORCED the upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 rendering the laptop useless (takes 8 min to boot then 5 min to load Firefox)JeremyB wrote:Isn't there a button near the power button for wifi? Wife has not used this for about 2 years rescued it from the dumpster once I get Linux Mint working correctly will donate to someone needing a computer, lots of kids out there without computers.
