Wi-Fi can see and says it connects but does not have internet even when it says it's connected, everything is server not found. Ping fails, host not found. It's connected but as if it's not connected. Tried multiple times connecting to 2.4 and 5g but it's no good. Cannot reach router at 192.168.1.1
Tried using Google's dns and blank defaults
lspci says network controller is Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced -N 6205 Taylor peak rev 34

a. Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Thanks! I won't be able to copy paste since it has no internet, will have to write it all out manually from my phone. I just figured I would let you guys know about it, but when I have time I'll definitely do that.

I got it to work by using a different method.
Originally, I was clicking the network icon by the clock and using "network connections" to connect to my hidden network. This kept connecting but also failing. Instead, I used "network settings"and used connect to hidden network. This worked and connected. So it seems to only be a problem with network connections and not network settings.

Maybe it can still be optimized a bit. For that, post the requested output....
Sidenote: hiding the SSID of your network is a bad idea and even decreases security:
