thunderbird ok on ethernet no forwarding on wifi

since changing email provider Thunderbird will not forward via wifi although it appears to be ok when directly connected with ethernet. Help please!

Is this your wifi router? Is it possible that the wifi router has port 25, 465 or 587 blocked? (or whatever port your ISP uses for sending email (SMTP))

Thanks for your suggestion ,have checked that the port numbers are as given by the provider. I have accessed the router but can find nothing relating to blocking

Early days but I may have stumbled across the answer to my problem . In Thunderbird properties I enabled read& write in all of the boxes , so far this seems to have done the trick ( watch this space! )

Strange , everything worked for a while but now back to same old problem . ports check out correctly . New written mail is unaffected & has always been ok.
Any more ideas out there?

Forgot to say , I tried running in safe mode & the problem is still there

SOLVED I also found that certain parts of ebay were unavailable or taking to long to load. I ran fix broken packages which indicated that several were broken also ran update for good measure & everything is as it should be.
