It seems to me to be nothing but a complication. Had little problem before. Now it is a complete headache and a pain.

A more unique identification. It does take some getting used to.
You can reverse this though, by (if I recall correctly) adding some boot parameter to Grub. With some Googling you'll probably find it easily....

If you have more than one wireless card as I do, it makes it easier to handle.
I like it myself but it does take a little time to get use to.

Capt Turk, you must have a USB wifi device and the string of characters after wlx should be the MAC address
